OutageScout is a network outage monitoring platform: lightweight check-in agents ("Scouts") installed on devices at each of your locations report in every few minutes, and a missed check-in triggers an immediate alert — before anyone on-site picks up the phone.

The Check-In Model

A lightweight agent — called a Scout — runs on a device at each of your locations. Every few minutes, it checks in with the OutageScout platform, confirming that the path between that device and the outside world is clear.

When that path breaks — whether it's the local network, the ISP, or anything in between — the Scout can't check in. A missed check-in triggers an alert to you immediately.

Most monitoring tools sit inside your network, so when the internet drops, they go dark too. OutageScout detects silence from the outside — a missed check-in from a location's Scout agent is itself the alert, so detection keeps working even when the location's own connectivity, and any tool that depends on it, is down.
How often do Scouts check in?
Check-in frequency depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free Outpost plan, every 5 minutes on Patrol, and every 2 minutes on Command. Faster check-ins mean faster detection.
What alert methods are available?
